Who Do our Policies Cover?

Our policies are designed to cover individuals who want to be insured on a car for a short period of time. This includes but is not exclusive to the following:

  • You need to use a friend’s car
  • You want to share a longer drive
  • You want to use your parent’s car
  • Your car is in repair and you need to drive
  • You have purchased a new vehicle and need to drive it home
  • You need to drive a different vehicle for a particular job
  • You are learning to drive

Who Is Eligible?

To be eligible for any of our policies you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be aged between 17 and 78.
  • You must have a UK driving licence or a UK provisional licence
  • You must have been a permanent resident in the UK for at least 12 months or a British expat.
  • You cannot have more than 7 licence points in the last 3 years
  • You must not have been banned from driving for the last 2
  • You must not have more than 2 fault claims in the past 3 years
  • You must have no criminal convictions including an ASBO or CBO
  • You cannot have a previous void policy from an insurer
  • The vehicle in question must be valued at last £1500
  • All claims must be capped at £65,000
  • The vehicle you plan on using must have a valid MOT
  • The vehicle you must be taxed.

Whilst we have our very own eligibility criteria, each insurer on our panel will also have their own criteria that you must meet. Should you fail to do so, they can deny offering you a policy.
We do not cover any of the following:

  • A car that has been modified
  • The car in question is a left-hand drive
  • The vehicle has been impounded
  • The car has more than 8 seats
  • The car has been hired and is used for home delivery, taxi or courier services
  • The vehicle is not registered in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man
  • The car has been declared SORN
